Paignton-based organization recognized as among the top 7% of accredited organisations across the UK who believe in realising the potential of their people.
Paignton, UK, 6 September, 2016: Spirent Communications plc’s (LSE:SPT) Positioning Technology Unit, the world leader in test equipment and services for improving positioning, navigation and timing (PNT) system performance, today announced it has been awarded the Investors in People Gold Award.
“Achieving IIP Gold Status is further recognition of our business success,” said Martin Foulger, General Manger of Spirent’s Positioning Technology Unit. “It demonstrates a level of quality in business that very few achieve. Less than 1,600 organisations achieve this status across all of the UK, so we are extremely pleased.”
This award follows closely behind receiving the Royal Institute of Navigation (RIN) Duke of Edinburgh Navigation Award for Technical Achievement, which was presented to Spirent to recognize its leading role in the evolution of global navigation satellite systems (GNSS) since 1985.
Paul Devoy, Head of Investors in People, said: “We’d like to congratulate Spirent on its Gold standard. Such a high level of accreditation is the sign of great people management practice, and demonstrates a commitment to staff development and shows an organisation committed to being the very best it can be.”
Spirent’s Positioning Technology Unit has been the global leader in GPS testing for 30 years. Spirent delivers navigation and positioning test equipment and services to governmental agencies, major manufacturers, integrators, test facilities and space agencies worldwide. Investors in People is the UK's leading accreditation for business improvement through people management, and the Gold award is only given to those organisations which are able to demonstrate a degree of excellence in the way they develop and support their staff.
This award resulted from a rigorous assessment on a wide range of measures ranging from strategy to leadership and communication, from reward and recognition to development and employee engagement.
